Jacob was amazing and the color options he gave were exactly what I was hoping for as far as look
I’ve used Jacob twice now for color consults. The first time was to turn a huge brick fireplace wall that I had done a German Schmear on, to a warm cozy southwest or mission style vibe. Did not have a lot of money, but I knew choosing the wrong color would cost me more in the long run. Jacob gave me a few choices as I initially was wanting a dark teal. Along with a teal recommendation he also recommended Urbane Bronze, which is the color I chose and could not have been more please. Never got sick of it and it was so versatile in all seasons (I live in Colorado). To go along with the fireplace, I wanted a creamy cozy white as a whole house interior color that again represented mission walls that would compliment dark wood accents and could handle pops of color. Again, Jacob sent me a few choices but his #1 recommendation was Shoji White. Jacob understood exactly what I was asking for and delivered it!! My second consult with Jacob was after our kitchen had a leak requiring a complete tear out (we decided to remodel) and needed help with kitchen cabinets based on photos I was seeing of colors that I liked. Once again Jacob delivered what I was hoping for in a cabinet color of Accessible Beige and distressed brass hardware. The process was great, sending him photos of the fixed elements in the home next to white paper gave him an idea of the kind of light in our home. Color packet came through with lighting recommendations as well. All in all an A+++ experience and could not have been happier. On the sad side, we unexpectedly decided to list our home in December. I give partial credit to Jacob for the quick sell of our home. Went up for sale in February and within the first few hours of showings we several offers over asking price with our home closing exactly one month from list date! I have added photos, some of when we first purchased the home. The new photos show it as staged (not our furniture). Be very upfront with Jacob about likes and dislikes and send him lots of photos of what you like and dislike as well as several photos of your home. You won’t be disappointed.
Perfect Colors
This is not our 1st time consulting with Jacob Owens for paint colors. The last time he picked the perfect colors for our kitchen. This time we needed suggestions for exterior paint colors. Jacob, once again, picked the perfect colors for our home exterior. I used to spend months and hundreds of dollars sampling various paint colors, and was seldom able to make the right selections. Jacob takes the guess work out of selecting colors. He narrows your choices down to a few selections, which saves you time and money. His service is so worth every penny that you spend. Never chose paint colors without consulting with Jacob Owens.
May as well pay talented people to do talented things
I’m not good at seeing the subtleties in colors. Shades and hues elude me. Benjamin Moore has at least 20 different shades of white – they all look the same to me. So when it came time to sell my house, I wanted it to present as well as possible and knew the right paint color would help the inside of the house look it’s best – I was shooting for open, airy and cohesive. Jacob has an organized straightforward process – he has you take specific pictures (took me about 10 minutes to do a complete 5-bedroom home) and then you send them to him. He then gets on a scheduled zoom (or just a phone call if you hate zoom) and goes over his thoughts and suggestions (and then he sends all of that to you in writing). He gave us four suggestions for wall color, trim color and ceiling. More importantly, he explained the pros and cons of each color choice and why he had chosen them. Super useful. We ended up just going with his first recommendation. The house looks great! Very fresh, airy and modern, but still ties well to all the oak flooring throughout our home. We are moving and we will use Jacob again. His skill in choosing paint colors that “pick up” the other colors in the room and bring the room together is truly a talent. Way easier than making multiple trips to stores, getting tiny samples, and pondering what will work. As a bonus, Jacob can give advise on flooring colors, exterior colors, and for us – front door color. Really made the house “pop”. I didn’t even know there were people who did this – a web search turned up Jacob and a few others. Jacob had a ton of very positive reviews, so we chose him. Turns out the positive reviews were legit and on point.

Charleston Condo Refresh
Our new Condo had fixed elements (Tiles and Cabinets) that were in really good condition. Hence, we decided to keep them. This automatically limited our choices in paint colors. Jacob was very attentive to our color wishes without sacrificing the design constraints. He found several color combinations that fit our tastes but still worked. Simply put, we would have gotten it wrong without Jacobs help. We strongly recommend him.
Kitchen cabinets and island color refresh
Jacob provided me with spot on recommendations and options based on looking at the undertones of the fixed elements in my kitchen, notably the backsplash i intended to keep, the floor, the countertops and the appliances. I also sent him other colors i was considering and he thoughtfully considered them as well. Ended up with a beautiful refresh! Highly recommended.

I was a bit hesitant to do something like choosing paint colors via an online process. Sometimes photos and lighting just don't match what you see in person. However, the process worked flawlessly. We took photos using the guidelines provided by Jacob and he recommended several colors that would all work well in our space. We then utilized Samplize and stuck the samples on the walls and ultimately chose his first recommendation and second recommendations for various rooms. Our painter just finished and my wife couldn't be happier with the results! Thanks again Jacob!

Great experience - Great outcome
I own a small resort in Mexico. I'm going through a major renovation and needed a new interior and exterior color. I purchased no less than 15 color samples for interior and another 15 for exterior. Painted sample areas all over the property and in different locations with different light. I could not make a decision. I didn't know what I was doing. I even at one point hired a designer to help with picking an exterior color. The amount of paint and labor I would be paying for was huge. Plus the down time of not getting it right and timing another painting was scary. I randomly found Jacob on Youtube. Watched a couple videos and figured his fees were very little if it helped at least narrow the options. I don't know anything about what's needed to pick a color that works with my spaces. I only knew that this guy knows more than me and he seems to have experience. His advice allowed me to move forward way more confidence than I otherwise would not have had. This is the second time I have worked with Jacob on a room (job was completed in 2023). He is attentive to your vision and make the magic happen. I would highly recommend Jacob. I have done many renovations, but my open floor plan kitchen remodel became challenging trying to match my transitional kitchen with a foyer that was more traditional. He helped me bring it all together. Worth every penny especially with the cost of paint and labor. I would most definitely use him again!!
Upgrade to 1910 Dutch Colonial
Great. I’ve always been afraid to update/paint the original yellow pine trim and still maintain the original character of the house. Jacob helped me pick the right color, but more importantly how do I update only part of the trim, keeping most of the downstairs, and maintain a seamless flow
