Sherwin Williams Greek Villa Color Review

Sherwin Williams Greek Villa isn't a true white or a creamy white, but it's one of the best off-white paint colors you can use that doesn't have a strong undertone. If you're looking for an off-white that's right in the middle, then this paint color might be for you. 

I’ve done hundreds of color consultations, and when it comes to painting a wall white, it’s far more complicated than painting your floor trims. You’re better off painting a white color for floor trims and built-in cabinets than painting your walls white.

So, you’re probably thinking what about all those beautiful interior homes you’ve seen painted all white in magazines or on Instagram. Most people buy into what they see, but the truth is it’s not as easy as it looks.

Here are three tips you should know that will save you time and help you from making a costly mistake. 

Tip 1, if you’re thinking about painting your wall Greek Villa, I don’t recommend it unless you have large windows on both sides of your walls and it’s a South facing room. If you don't paint this color in a room that doesn't get a lot of natural lighting, then don’t be surprised if it looks flat and muted. 

Tip 2, make sure you pair Greek Villa with the undertones that you have in your fixed elements, like your kitchen countertop for example. If your countertop has a pink undertone, I would refrain from using this paint color.

Tip 3, it’s crucial to compare Greek Villa with your flooring. Almost every type of flooring has an undertone, especially tile or carpet flooring. If you have wood flooring that is warm and earthy, then chances are it could be a good match. However, if you have tile or carpet flooring with pink undertones or pinkish taupe, I would not recommend this paint color for your home.  

The bottom line is to compare Greek Villa with your fixed and furnished items that you may have in your room to determine if it’s the right fit for your home.
